A Chilling Touch

We approach that time of year, rapidly now. The white world will be upon us. The monochromatic blanket. A frosted hard surface beneath our feet. This is for us who live where the seasons change. We will complain about the cold, the blowing snow, the shovelling and slippery roads. There will be too many days of pervasive grey above our heads. The calendar, once it passes all the holiday season tradition and a new year befalls, will crawl. The flowers and new leaves of Spring will seem a distant memory. Yes, this is the hold of winter upon those of us who live in its grasp. That said, there are beauties within. Touches of primal planet artwork. Here then is a mix of images that I captured to share a range of winter’s moods.

  1. I am not a big fan of being cold.. but do LOVE the way it makes art out of everything. I am always admiring the frost patterns, or icicles, the trees and bushes, all of it, while others complain. You just get through. I love all of these pics, and especially the ones where you captured some color in the monochrome backgrounds. STUNNING! So glad you are back and sharing! Hope your holidays are awesome! 🙂 Donna

  2. “It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas . ..” (Yes, even though I’m a Pagan, I still celebrate Christmas. As a Hairy Kneed Kitchen Celt, I celebrate anything that involves cookies.) That wreath and the gate it hangs on make my happy heart dance.

    • Ha ha… eloquent and funny as always, Blue. I’m Pagan if I’m anything, and damn it I will find beauty and art in the worst that Old Man Winter can fling at us. Cheers and Happy Holidays to you.

  3. I wish I had the eloquence that you do, so I could convey the happiness you deliver to me when you do this. Thank you, and do have a lovely and loving Yule!
