We approach that time of year, rapidly now. The white world will be upon us. The monochromatic blanket. A frosted hard surface beneath our feet. This is for us who live where the seasons change. We will complain about the cold, the blowing snow, the shovelling and slippery roads. There will be too many days of pervasive grey above our heads. The calendar, once it passes all the holiday season tradition and a new year befalls, will crawl. The flowers and new leaves of Spring will seem a distant memory. Yes, this is the hold of winter upon those of us who live in its grasp. That said, there are beauties within. Touches of primal planet artwork. Here then is a mix of images that I captured to share a range of winter’s moods.
When cold grows gold :
When sundown and snowfall collaborate :
When you feel lost in it:
After the harvest:
After an ice storm:
Stop? Brrrr! Yes, I will. Just one more image, to wish you all a safe and happy Holiday Season. See you in 2015!
